Celebration of Life

After the hustle and bustle of sending off a loved one the healing journey begins. Grieving is necessary in order to go on. Reaching out to family, friends, and accessing resources are important. Should you or someone you love need additional support I would be pleased to explore pastoral care options with you. For more information please contact Rev. Joanne.

Hope Rooted in God's Word

Psalm 139:13

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.

John 16:21

A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world.

Psalm 139:14

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

1 Peter 4:8

Keep your love for one another at full strength, because love covers a multitude of sins.

2 Corinthians 4:16

Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day.

The Glory of God

Psalm 73:24 calls heaven itself “glory.” It used to be common to hear Christians talk of death as being “received unto glory,” which is a phrase borrowed from this Psalm. When the Christian dies, he will be taken into God’s presence, and in His presence will be naturally surrounded by God’s glory. We will be taken to the place where God’s beauty literally resides—the beauty of His Spirit will be there, because He will be there. Again, the beauty of His Spirit (or the essence of Who He Is) is His “glory.” In that place, His glory will not need to come through man or nature, rather it will be seen clearly, just as 1 Corinthians 13:12 says, “For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I shall know fully just as I also have been fully known.” Read more...
